SIOUX CITY (KTIV/KCCI) – One of Iowa’s biggest healthcare systems is now charging patients to message their doctor. UnityPoint Health uses an app called “MyChart,” where patients can see their test results, schedule appointments and send messages to their doctors.

Is MyChart free for patients?

If it’s a serious issue, such as a potential mistake that could affect your care immediately, contact the office of the health care professional who wrote the note and tell them about your concern. Use your best judgment about small mistakes, such as spelling or grammar. For all other changes, please contact the facilities Privacy Officer for further assistance.

How to remove proxy access to MyUnityPoint?

You can remove a family member’s proxy access to your MyUnityPoint account at any time by logging into your MyUnityPoint account. Click on “Personalize” under the Settings menu option on the top right and then select the proxy access you wish to revoke under “Who Can View My Record?”
