What is Sentara MyChart?

How do I access MyHealth MyChart?
To access MyHealth MyChart you need an activation code. Use the options below to either request an activation code or activate your account with the code you received from Sentara. Forgot username? Forgot password? Need Help? Looking for COVID-19 Test Results? Your COVID-19 test results are available in your Sentara MyChart account.
How long does it take to get a MyChart account?
We need some information from you in order to grant you a MyChart account. Once submitted, it could take up to a week for processing and verification. Once approved, you will receive an email or a letter with your activation code and instructions on how to activate your MyChart account. If you have any questions, please contact your clinic.
How to grant access to medical information online?
To grant you access to your medical information online, we will first need to collect some information from you that will allow us to verify your identity. In this process, we ask you to provide us with your demographic information, and you will then be asked to answer some additional questions by our third party identity verification system. After you have completed these questions successfully , you will receive your personal activation code with instructions on how to proceed with creating your patient account.
How are MyChart passwords stored?
User names and passwords provide two layers of authentication and are stored in an encrypted database that is isolated from the Internet. As a MyHealth and MyChart user, your role in maintaining the security of your medical information is: 1) Changing your password on a regular basis, and 2) Keeping your login ID and password confidential.
What is Sentara’s confidentiality?
Sentara is committed to protecting the confidentiality of your medical information. We limit Sentara employees’ access and ability to enter or view information based upon their role in your care. Firewalls, passwords, encryption, and audit trails are further used to safeguard your information. We keep a record of the records released (Which records? he records released to MyChart? I think this has a typo) and note the time and date of access each time a patient accesses MyChart. We have taken steps to make all information received from our online visitors as secure as possible against unauthorized access and use.
How to tell if a Sentara server is secure?
You can tell when you are secure by looking at the location (URL) field. If the URL begins with https:// (instead of http://), the document comes from a secure server. This means your data cannot be read or deciphered by unauthorized individuals. You can tell whether you are truly connected to Sentara by viewing the digital certificate. This certificate verifies the connection between the Sentara server’s public key and the server’s identification.
