How to get medical advice from home?
You may be able to get medical advice from the comfort of your own home by sending your provider a message through MyChart. Our providers often can provide answers to simple questions or requests via MyChart messaging at no charge; however if you send complex messages or messages that have images attached that are unrelated to a recent office visit, we may consider this an “E-Visit” (electronic visit) and you or your insurance plan may be charged for the provider’s clinical assessment and any treatment recommendations that are offered within 1 business day. This charge will not exceed $40. Your use of MyChart messaging for clinical issues authorizes Reliant Medical Group to bill for the provider’s services, and you agree you are responsible for any self-pay balance if your insurance does not cover the charges. Please check with your insurance company if you have any questions. Note: MyChart messages with attached forms or questionnaires will not result in a charge.
Can I use MyChart to send urgent messages?
Please do not use MyChart to send any messages requiring urgent attention (i.e. in less than 2 business days). For urgent medical matters, please contact your doctor’s office by phone. In emergency situations, call 911.
How to send a medical question on MyChart?
If you have questions about a particular test you can send a MyChart message to you provider’s office for more information on the results. To send a non-urgent medical question to your doctor you can either click on “Ask a Question” from the home page or you can click on the Messaging icon on the top and then “Ask a Question.” On the next screen choose “New Medical Question.”
What is a comment on a test result?
Test results that have a narrative to explain test outcomes have a comment that refers one to the attached note. However, these notes are never posted on MyChart and so the patient is left in the dark as to what is really going on.
