What is the vital access provider (VAP) program?
The Vital Access Provider (VAP) program provides longer term support, up to 3 years, to ensure financial stability and advance ongoing operational changes to improve community care. Both programs are funded through one award application process and must be approved by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
What is a VAPG & how does it work?
The VAPG helps agricultural producers participate in value-added activities that include processing and marketing agricultural products. Eligible applicants include independent producers, agricultural producer groups, farmer- or rancher-cooperatives, and majority-controlled producer based business ventures.
